Spanning a block on 76 Eleventh Avenue, and with the Hudson River to the west, the High Line and the rest of Manhattan fanning out to the east, the location and views play a starring role here; so that one tower does not obstruct the other's vantage, they've been playfully designed to seemingly twist of out of the way of each other resulting in an interpretive real estate stand off that will serve as a new, idiosyncratic visual marker for vibrant West Chelsea and the neighbouring Meatpacking District.

The project forms part of a new ‘architecture row’ - New York's razor-sharp downtown cityscape - which includes residential projects by design heavyweights Renzo Piano, Jean Nouvel and Frank Gehry that hug the city's High Line.

Externally, the torqued duo has been to designed to blend in with the area's now signature warehouses with travertine cladding and industrial-scale windows a nod to the area's manufacturing and commercial roots.

Tower No. X, once completed, will contain 87 luxury residences on the eleventh floor, rising above the 137-key Six Senses Hotel - the luxury brand's first US outpost. A further 149 condominiums will occupy the taller No. I tower on the west side.

Home owners at The XI will have access to a roller deck of top end amenities - 60,000 sq ft to be precise. Luxury perks include residents' use of Six Senses’ wellness club and spa, treatment rooms, preferred reservations at both of the on-site restaurants, and hotel services including valet parking, room service and housekeeping.

Residents will also receive special privileges at all Six Senses resorts worldwide with destinations in paradise spots such as Thailand and the Maldives.

Buys social lives will also get busier with on-site entertaining spaces designed to make meeting clients, friends and other residents all the easier in a city whose currency is entertainment.

Without leaving the development, owners at the XI can lead meetings at the on-site library bar, socialise in the numerous lounge spaces and host formal dinners and wine tasting events. Children and young adults get a look in too with a dedicated 'teens' lounge' and children’s playroom.

Internally, the design of both buildings are focused on maximising light in each of the 1-6 bedroom luxury apartments with interiors by vanguard, high-end interior design agencies Gabellini Sheppard Associates and Gilles & Boissier.

The development will also features a newly-created public promenade, the first ever street-level extension of the park that will run adjacent to the elevated linear park.
